JEDDAH – During the summer season, many young Saudis become involved in voluntary work aiming to spend their free time adding to their experience by helping others, benefiting society and reaping for themselves the rewards of volunteerism.
This year Saudi Aramco has provided an opportunity for 20 young Saudis to volunteer to take care of special needs children, and others who are orphans or cancer patients, in the companys awareness exhibition which is being held at the Mall of Arabia here as part of the 31st Jeddah Summer Festival.
JEDDAH – Dr. Abdul Aziz Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information, Saturday visited the Aramco exhibition at the Mall of Arabia displaying 70 historical pictures representing the history of oil industry and history of Jeddah.<br/> Khoja stressed the historical importance of these pictures especially for the new generations which have no idea about the beginning of oil exploration in Saudi Arabia.<br/> Khoja also admired the creative paintings at an exhibition organized on the sidelines of the main event. He also appreciated the leading role of Aramco in supporting the society and the national economy.<br/> Adel Magrabi, senior Aramco official in the Western Region, said Aramco would continue to organize these types of social activities. – SG
DHAHRAN – The Saudi Aramco Mid-Summer Festival 2009 at Aramcos Exhibition Center here is attracting large crowds with thousands of visitors enjoying entertainment programs, social lectures, animated movies, childrens techno park and poetic evenings.
Abdul Aziz M. Al-Qadhi, the festivals chief organizer, told Saudi Gazette about 4,000 visitors attend the festival daily.
