Muslim women can respect veil bans Cleric

“It is illogical and unreasonable that the French government undertakes such a thing, which is condemned by neutral people, not just Muslims, because the secular state assures freedom of religion,” Sheikh Aed Al-Qarni told Al-Hayat.

Pak ambassador sets a precedent
Filed under NewsJul 11RIYADH – Umar Khan Alisherzai, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Kingdom, has recently set a precedent by solemnizing Nikah (the wedding) of his eldest daughter at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
“The Pakistani envoy has set a precedent that every member of the Pakistani community should follow. Solemnizing Nikah in a mosque was a tradition of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him),” said Dr. Mansour Memon, a prominent member of the Pakistani community here.
He said it was sad to note that as Muslim society is becoming exposed to the so-called modern world, the noble traditions of the Prophet (pbuh) are being forgotten. People in Pakistan have started spending lavishly on wedding parties, a trend not customary in Islam, he said.

RIYADH – The Ministry of Education encourages the creation of public-private sector partnerships to initiate scientific studies in the field of research and development in order to bring about qualitative change and establish a knowledge-based society in the Kingdom.
Dr. Fahd Bin Abdullah Al-Tayash, Spokesman for the Ministry of Education, said that statistical figures such as the existence of five million students, 30,000 schools and 10 million parents should be enough to attract private sector investments for projects that would mutually benefit the key partners – the public sector and Saudi society at large.
