Iraq initials new deal on Turkey oil pipeline
Filed under NewsJun 18BAGHDAD – Iraq has initialed a deal with Turkey to extend for 12 years the use of the main pipeline linking its northern oilfields to the Mediterranean port of Ceyhan, the oil ministry said on Thursday.
The renewal of the existing deal, which ran out in March, was the result of lengthy negotiations – Turkey had been seeking an extension of between 15 and 20 years, its Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said before the agreements expiry.

SCTA takes over Al-Saqqaf Palace
Filed under NewsMar 11JEDDAH/MAKKAH – The residence of late King Abdul Aziz, the historic Al-Saqqaf Palace in Makkah, has been taken over by the Supreme Commission of Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) for restoration and preservation, under an order from Crown Prince Sultan.
The palace will be open to the public when maintenance and renovation work has been completed. The Crown Prince has donated SR2 million to the cause.

JCCI signs oil deal with Russians
Filed under NewsFeb 16JEDDAH – The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) has signed an agreement with Russian company Geotech to extract any remaining material from existing oil wells in the Kingdom.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Jeddah Economic Forum, in the presence of Mazen Batarjee, Deputy Chairman of the JCCI, Sergei Koznitsov, the Russian Consul General in Jeddah and Geotechs vice president Vlasov Alex.
However, the agreement requires the approval from Saudi Aramco first before any work can be started on any oil wells.
