    The Aalami Urdu Markaz in a function last week welcomed Dr. Khursheed Rizwi (Sitara-e-Imtiaz), famous researcher, scholar, poet and scientist from Pakistan. The evening in Jeddah titled “Sham-e-Khursdeed” featured local poets and speakers, namely, Mohsin Alwi, Aftab Turabi, Naseem-e-Saher, Rauf Tahir and Mian Khalid, who spoke of Dr. Khursheeds contributions to Urdu and Arabic literature and his research on the great Pakistani poet Allama Iqbal.

    Naser Ullah Watto, welfare consular at the Pakistani Consulate in Jeddah was the chief guest, while Masood Puri, a Jeddah-based Pakistani businessman, was the guest of honor. – SG

  • PISJ-ES observes Kashmir black day

    JEDDAH – Pakistan International School (English Section) Jeddah organized Kashmir Black Day Saturday.

    On the occasion, the students of class Y11 gave a presentation titled “The Story of Kashmir.”

    Ahsan Saeed Usmani, Faisal Iftikhar, Ali Imran Summaiya Fareed Khan and Hafsa Khan, students of the school, expressed their solidarity and sympathy with the Kashmiris and hoped that the Kashmiris too can walk with their heads held high and with full control of their destiny.

    Akmal Saeed (Consul CA and link officer of the school) was the chief guest. Mohammed Jamil (Press Consul) attended the function as guest of honor.
