Ministry looks into Casanova jurisdiction
Filed under NewsOct 6JEDDAH – A Ministry of Culture and Information committee has been looking since July into the complaint brought by lawyers of Mazen Abdul Jawad, the Saudi accused of publicly discussing his sexual exploits on the Lebanese LBC television channel, to see if LBC committed any breaches of law that come under the ministrys jurisdiction.
Abdul Jawads lawyer Soleiman Al-Jumaii has insisted that according to the Publication Law the case should fall under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture and Information and not the Commission for Investigation and Prosecution (CIP) which is currently conducting the inquest, as the ministry is the only body authorized to consult all parties involved.
