DUBAI, UAE – The camels know the drill by heart. Just after dawn, they file on their own, always in groups of 12, into metal stalls for milking. Workers attach automated pumps. The milk flows into a system of chilled pipes that empty into a sealed metal vat.
The next stop someday could be markets in Europe, and possibly beyond, under ambitious plans backed by Dubais ruler to expand the reach of the playfully eccentric brand name Camelicious.

Benefits Blog Reading deeper into Ramadan
Filed under NewsAug 9Ive often wondered: what is it like being non-Muslim in a Muslim country during Ramadan? Do non-Muslims develop a deeper understanding of Ramadan, beyond the closed shutters of restaurants and cafes, restrictions on eating and drinking outdoors during the day, the lavish banquets and traffic jams at sunset, the crowded malls and fairy lights that twinkle deep into the night?
Non-Muslim residents and visitors to Muslim countries during Ramadan are quick to note the palpable spirit of community and charity, self-discipline and sacrifice, reflection and prayer. Invitations to Iftar meals and dinners reveal other facets of the Islamic fast: hospitality, generosity, togetherness, family values. In fact, many non-Muslims are so moved by their experience, they opt to fast out of a sense of respect and solidarity with those around them, even if only for a day or two.

JEDDAH – The interfaith dialogue initiative of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has been well received by Muslims in America. The 2.5 million-strong Muslim community in the United States is “appreciative” of King Abdullahs sincere efforts to overcome the mistrust among followers of different faiths.
“And Muslims in America look forward to finding ways to bridge the vast gap that has developed, post-9/11, between Islam and followers of other Abrahamic faiths,” a couple of Pakistani origin long settled in the United States, said here Thursday evening.

Gas station owners moot scrapping BP brand
Filed under NewsJul 31NEW ORLEANS – BP gas station owners across America are divided over whether the oil giant stained by its handling of the Gulf spill should rebrand US outlets as Amoco or another name as part of its effort to repair the companys badly damaged reputation.
Some who have seen their sales plunge because of protests say BP has already sought a fresh start by naming an American to replace its gaffe-prone British CEO, so why not change the name on gas station marquees as a further symbol of that culture shift.
