• Private sector hires 17000 Saudis in 2009

    DAMMAM – The acting director of the Labor Office in Dammam, Ahmad Al-Obaid, has said that there are 1,943 vacancies in private sector firms awaiting Saudi men and women. “Were working on creating new jobs in companies,” Al-Obaid added. Over 17,000 Saudis have been hired by the private sector since the beginning of 2009, according to Al-Obaid, who went on to say that the Labor Office had carried out 1,192 inspections and received 53 complaints brought by groups of individuals against private sector companies, with accusations including arbitrary sacking and delays in pay among other complaints. – Okaz/SG
