• Worker dies in diesel tank slip

  JEDDAH – An African maintenance worker died on Sunday after falling into a large tank of diesel oil on which he was working at a factory in the south of Jeddah. The man was said to be alone in the vicinity at the time of the incident, and his death was not discovered until later when colleagues found his work tools next to the giant tank. Initial investigations showed no signs of foul play and officials suspect that the man lost his footing and fell into the tank, unable to extract himself from the thick oil inside. A Civil Defense official urged factories and other worksites to provide all safety measures and precautions required by law. – Okaz/SG
