• 2 held for slaughtering sick camel

  YANBU: Officials from Yanbu Municipality caught two Arab men for slaughtering a sick camel at a remote location outside Yanbu. The officials caught the men following a tip off by a local Saudi man.

  Officials from the municipalitys Environmental Health Department examined the camel and found it was sick before slaughter and that the meat was unfit for human consumption.

  The two workers told municipality officials that they bought the camel from its owner and that they wanted to distribute the meat to the poor. Officials fined the two men and buried the camel.
